This tutorial is to help you to make your own Glitter Text.  I will be using Paint Shop Pro and Animation Shop 3 in this tutorial which can both be downloaded from the internet.

  1. First you will need to save a "Glitter Block" to your computer, you can access a selection of glitter blocks by Clicking Here!

To save your Glitter Block, Right Click on the Glitter Block and Click "Save Picture As" (save your Glitter Block to your Desktop so it easy to access later)

I will be using the below Glitter Block for the tutorial

  2. Now open a new Paint Shop Pro Document

  3. Select The Text tool which is on the left side and looks like this

If you want outline around your text you will need to change the "Stroke Width" (in this tutorial the stroke width has been set to 1.0 to acheive the black outline around the letters)

You will also need to make sure that the text is created as "Vector"

  4. Click Ctrl+C and then Ctrl+V this simple is coping your text and then pasting it back as a second image with any of the unused area automatically cropt

  5. Open your Glitter Block that you have saved on your desktop in Animation Shop 3.  This is done by first opening Animation Shop 3, then Clicking "File", selecting "Open" from the drop down menu that appears, this will open a browsing window for you to then search for your saved Glitter Block file, once you have located your Glitter Block file Click on it once to highlight the file and then Click "Open"

  6. You will then notice and maybe realize for the first time that your Glitter Block is in fact an animation and not just an image, this is why your Glitter Block will open as three separate frames

  7. Copy (Ctrl+C) each frame one by one from Animation Shop 3 and Paste (Ctrl+V) each of them into your Paint Shop Pro document containing the image of your text

  8. Click the "Flood Fill Tool" (on the left side just above the text tool)

  9. Then Click one of the "Colour Palettes"

  10. Click the "Pattern" Tab

  11. Then Click the "Down Arrow" (on the right side of the top left image) and then browse and then select one of the three frames to your chossen Glitter Block and then Click "OK"

  12. You can then fill each letter with your first frame from the Glitter Block

  13. After you have filled all your letters with the first frame of your Glitter Block, Copy (Ctrl+C) the image of your text and Paste (Ctrl+V) into Animation Shop 3

  14. Go back to your Paint Shop Pro and keep clicking (Ctrl+Z) which will undo/remove the glitter from your text letter by letter (stop when the text is at it's original state before adding any of the glitter)
  15. Now you will have to go back to (Step 8) and repeat the process using the other two frames of your Glitter Block

Remembering to Copy (Ctrl+C) from Paint Shop Pro and Paste (Ctrl+Shift+L) into Animation Shop 3 the other two images of your text after they have been filled with the other two frames of the Glitter Block or you can add each of the extra text images to your first image that will make up your glitter animation by Right Clicking on the fist image, then clicking "Paste After Current Frame" from the drop down menu that appears (both ways will add each extra image as part of the first animation)
  16. When you have all three images combined into the one animation you can choose to view your animation by Right Clicking on the image of your animation and then Clicking on "View Animation"

  17. Then Click "File" and then "Save As" from the drop down menu that appears

  18. Name your animation "oskarsglitter" in this example and Click "Save" (again i recommend saving your animation to your desktop)

  19. Now to add your Glitter Text Animation to your MSN Space you will have to upload your animation to a free web-hosting site, www.imageshack.com is what i recommend you useas it has no bandwidth limts.  Though you will need to make sure your animation is under 1.024MB or 1024KB
